eSIM compatible phones
Almost every phone released from 2018 onward can run a Goodbars eSIM. Find your model below, or check your own device in under a minute.
The short answer
If your phone was released from around 2018 and is carrier-unlocked, it almost certainly supports eSIM: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, plus many other recent Android phones. Your Goodbars eSIM installs alongside your normal SIM, so you keep your own number for calls and texts while it handles data.

Not sure? You do not need to find your exact model in the list. Check the phone itself:
- Dial *#06#Type *#06# on your phone's keypad. If an EID number appears alongside the IMEI, your phone has an eSIM.
- On iPhoneOpen Settings, then General, then About, and scroll down. An EID line means you are eSIM ready. You can also open Settings, then Mobile Data, and look for Add eSIM.
- On AndroidOpen Settings and search for eSIM, or go to Connections or Network, then SIM manager. An option to add an eSIM or downloaded SIM means your phone supports it.

Only the Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of these tablets take an eSIM: the Wi-Fi-only versions have no modem at all. The same one-minute check above works on a tablet too.
Good to know before you buy
- Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. A phone locked to a home network provider cannot add a Goodbars eSIM.
- eSIM support can differ by region. The same model bought in another country may not have eSIM, so the one-minute check above is the surest test.
- You keep your normal SIM. The eSIM runs alongside it (dual SIM), so your usual number still works for calls and texts.
- Install on home Wi-Fi before you fly. Installing is not the same as activating, so you can set it up early without starting your data or validity.
Compatibility questions
My phone is not in the list. Does that mean it will not work?
Not necessarily. The lists are a selection of popular models, not every phone. Run the one-minute check (dial *#06# or look for an eSIM option in your settings), and if you are still unsure, email us before buying.
How do I know if my phone is unlocked?
If you bought it directly from Apple, Samsung or Google, or SIM-free from a retailer, it is almost always unlocked. A phone bought on a network contract may be locked until it is paid off: your provider can confirm and unlock it.
Do I lose my normal phone number?
No. A Goodbars eSIM works as a second line alongside your physical SIM, so you keep your own number for calls and texts and use the eSIM for data in Bali.
Can I install it before I travel?
Yes, and we recommend it. Install on your home Wi-Fi before you fly. Installing does not start your data or your validity period, so nothing counts down until you switch it on in Bali.
